Where to Go to the Beach
In La Spezia, Cinque Terre, and the Eastern Riviera?
The beauty and uniqueness of the beaches along the Eastern Ligurian Riviera is that there’s truly something for everyone:
From sandy shores to pebbled coves, from hidden and wild inlets to easy-access beaches with parking right in front of the sea.
Here at Cuccaro Club, depending on what you’re looking for in your seaside day, we’ll give you local advice – as true Ligurians – on how to enjoy our coastline.
Here are some beaches near the Cuccaro Club, great alternatives to the usual tourist spots:
🏖️ DEIVA MARINA —
Les crowded, easy parking Between Sand and Pebbles
Just about 35 minutes away, Deiva Marina offers clean waters and a long beach that alternates between pebbles and sand.
It’s very convenient for parking and usually not too crowded.
If you arrive early in the morning, you can even park right in front of the beach.
🏖️MONEGLIA and CHIAVARI shallow shoreline, sandy beach (perfect for small children)
A little bit longer the way but sandy beach and really cozy town. Chiavari it's also, a really antique and charming town to visit.
🚲 BONASSOLA & FRAMURA — On Foot or by Bike Along the Old Railway
(More Nature, less touristic)
Perched above the sea – what a lovely surprise!
Surrounded by hills dotted with maritime pines, olive groves, and terraced vineyards.
Beautiful views, crystal-clear water, and a pebbles beach.
You can reach it by car, but it’s truly spectacular if you walk or rent a bike (in levanto 6€/day rental bike) and follow the scenic path that runs along the old railway line all the way to Bonassola and finally to Framura .
🌅
SESTRI LEVANTE - A Fairytale Bay, the Town of Two Seas!
Sandy beaches, the romantic “Bay of Silence”, the charming old town street between the “two seas” full of lovely shops and restaurants – and the best gelato in Liguria!
Why two seas? Because Sestri Levante is almost a peninsula, embraced by the sea on both sides.
Motorway direction Genova: exit in Sestri Levante.
It’s also home to the internationally known Andersen Prize, dedicated to fairy tales.
A perfect balance between convenience and charm.
🐚 MONTEROSSO — The Most Beautiful Beach in the Cinque Terre?
We’ll let you decide! It’s certainly the largest and most equipped beach in the Cinque Terre.
Monterosso has two souls – the old town and the newer part, separated by a short tunnel.
Overlooked by the famous “Giant” statue carved into the cliff, it's definitely worth the visit.
🏖️LERICI & TELLARO
Wonderfull sandy beach shallow shoreline (perfect for small children) 45 minutes drive, no for the weekend, too crowded and hard to park.
put during the week it work .
Parking
🏖️
RIVA TRIGOSO Longer way but good choice with Deiva Marina as well, when is high season, because it’s one of the nice beaches we have with less people.
